In Leeds, England on January 18, 1884, author and journalist Arthur Michell Ransome was born. He is the eldest child of Cyril Ransome and Edith Baker-Boulton. He attended the Yorkshire College, the workplace of his late father, and took up chemistry. However, he didn’t get to finish his studies because he left after a year for London and that’s when his career in writing started.
Ransome is popular in the literary world, specifically in the children’s literature corner, for his amazing series called Swallows and Amazons. The books revolve around adventure of the characters, commonly around the Lake District and Norfolk Broads, during their school-holidays. He also wrote other books apart from his infamous series, such as The Crisis in Russia (1921), A Letter to America (1919), The Souls of the Streets and other Little Papers, The Elixir of Life (1915), and more.

She was surrounded with love and care by her parents, sibling, and dog and because of that, she developed a strong love for animals. Leah was raised well by her family for she is living with the life lessons and family values that they taught her.

Roald Dahl
On 13th of September 1916 in Llandaff, Cardiff, Wales, author Roald Dahl was born. He studied in The Catedral School in Llandaff, St.Peter’s School in Westonsuper-Mare, and in Repton School in England. He was first married to Patricia Neal but they broke their marriage in 1983. Dahl remarried in 1983 with Felicity Crosland. He has a total of 5 children. Roald also served in the military and was in the No. 80 Squadron RAF unit and became their leader.
Roald Dahl took the creative path for he was not only a prolific author but also a great screenwriter and poet. Among his amazing works is the book Matilda, which is about a little girl gifted with knowledge and power. But Matilda’s family is oppose on her interests and doesn’t like her to fancy books and learning.
